Gone Girl at the 52nd New York Film Festival

“Gone Girl,” David Fincher’s highly anticipated thriller starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, had its world premiere as the opening night film of the 52nd New York Film Festival on Friday, September 26, 2014.

Fincher, his entire cast including Affleck, Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Carrie Coon, Kim Dickens, Scoot McNairy, Missi Pyle, Casey Wilson and producer Reese Witherspoon attended the packed screening held in Alice Tully Hall in the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn, and adapted by Flynn for the screen, “Gone Girl” delves into the mysterious disappearance of Amy (Pike) on her fifth wedding anniversary with Nick (Affleck), who subsequently becomes the prime suspect.

Following the enormously successful screening, a glamorous after-party was held at New York City’s famed Tavern on the Green in Central Park. In addition to the cast, Fincher and Flynn, countless notables attended including Edward Norton, Greta Gerwig, Noah Baumbach, James Woods and Michael Moore.
